about
the host:
As of March 2006, Evan Farmer has finished filming the fourth and final season
of TLC's hit makeover show, WHILE YOU WERE OUT. In addition to his music career
and roles on screens large and small, Evan studied Architecture and Organizational
Issues Management at Tulane University and has worked as both a draftsman and
as a graphic designer for several firms. In 2002 he and Architect-Tom Granthem,
incorporated Renovolution renovating fringe area, single-family homes in New
Orleans- a project that fully utilizes Evan's background in architecture, carpentry,
and furniture building towards his greatest passion, philanthropy. Since the
Katrina Disaster of 2005, Renovolution has begun rebuilding its properties to
be utilized as half way homes for families otherwise unable to return to New
Orleans. This new project is being captured in a self-produced documentary entitled
Saving Cambronne.
Evan first made entertainment news with his portrayal of the central character "Jerry O'Keefe" in MTV's first made-for-television movie 2GE+HER, for which he also recorded lead vocals on the soundtrack and follow up album (the sum total of which has amounted to platinum sales worldwide). He also co-wrote one of the film's songs, "You're My Baby Girl" (featured on the first Album). 2GE+HER's music videos "U+ME= US" and "The Hardest Part of Breaking Up (is getting back your stuff)" sat amongst the top 10 most requested videos on MTV for over a year. Evan continued his MTV/2GE+HER tenure reprising his lead role as "Jerry" in a weekly television series based on the film.
Evan has been featured in countless major magazines including: Rolling Stone, Billboard, US, Cosmo Girl, People, Teen People, Vogue, Teen Vogue, Entertainment Weekly, Entertainment Teen, DO! Magazine, TV Guide, and has been featured on Entertainment Tonight, CNN, and The Early Show With Bryant Gumble to name a few.
Evan is most proud however to be actively involved in supporting several charities including: the Susan G. Komen Foundation, The Michael Cuccione Foundation, Rebuilding Together, Bras For a Cause, and he responded to the December 2004, Tsunami Disaster with a $10,000.00 donation to the Unicef: Tsunami Disaster Relief Fund. Evan has just begun recording his second charity album and DVD in an effort to raise money for the advancement of research for a cure and treatment of Ovarian Cancer.
